ABOUT PRESS CREDITS MEDIA BACK

What about the (self-)image of women in the arts and beyond? This question lies at the heart of Lieselot De Wilde's first solo creation. An answer to this question is Figurine, a musical and sculptural self-portrait that cleverly turns rusty expectations and old clichés inside out and offers a kaleidoscopic reflection on creation, transformation and humanity. In dialogue with a sculpture by scenographer Mirella Weingarten and in a musical sound language as colourful as it is unique, De Wilde plays a game of moving and being moved. How do you shape yourself and your world? How do you break free from templates and patterns? And what range of shapes takes its place? Figurine is an installation-performance that gives voice to a search for freedom and multiformity.

Figurine is made as part of a creator trajectory that Concertgebouw Bruges is undertaking with Lieselot De Wilde.
