The Barrel Organ Project is an ever-growing cycle of world-wide songs for voice and barrel organ. The project’s special mission is to promote female singers and songwriters in particular or songs that contribute to enriching the history of women through the ages. Who is the Maria Callas of Cameroon or the Edith Piaf of Romania?

The project started In the covid pandemic in 2020 as a series of videos called Around the world in 72 songs. In this series, Lieselot followed the journalist Nellie Bly who in 1889/90 was the first record holder in racing around the world in 72 days.

As confinement didn’t last forever, the project could be talken to a live stage. Lieselot presents the Barrel Organ Project Solo, as well as with her ensemble Bel Ayre in the concert program  Songs of Travel and as a production Travel Rooms together with Zonzo Compagnie.
