Lieselot De Wilde is a versatile vocalist, performing music from the Middle Ages up to compositions written today. She likes adventurous and creative collaborations that allow to involve some of her other interests such as improvisation, poetry and theatre. Together with jazz guitarist Peter Verhelst she forms the ensemble Bel Ayre and she also forms a duo for improvisation and creation of contemporary music with pianist Gabi Sultana.

She graduated magna cum laude at the Lemmens Institute, tutored by Dina Grossberger and Katelijne Van Laethem. Later on she studied with Jard Van Nes. In 2014 she participated in the Academy of Pierre Boulez during the Lucern Festival where she sang the first solo part in Luciano Berioʼs Coro under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle. She obtained a first prize during the Concours Axion Classic of Belfius Bank as well, attended master classes with Alain Buet, Greta De Reyghere, Axel Everaert and Udo Reinemann and was introduced in early music practice by Erik Van Nevel, Dirk Snellings, Jill Feldman and Stratton Bull.

Lieselot regularly works with LOD, a Ghent-based production company for creation of contemporary opera and music theatre. She sang the role of Hannah in the production Muur (Inne Goris, D.Pauwels),  the role of Arthur Rimbaud in LʼAutre Hiver (Dominique Pauwels) and performed in Meneer Afzal (Pieter De Buysser, Thomas Smetryns) and Huis der verboden muziekjes - De Revanche (Dick van der Harst). These productions toured to Kunstenfestivaldesarts Brussels, Opera Days Rotterdam, Centre National des Arts Ottawa, Festival TransAmériques Montréal, Gulbenkian Musica Lisboa, De Singel Antwerp, Opera Flanders, Handelsbeurs Concertzaal Ghent, Théâtre du Nord de Lille, Le Parvis Tarbes, Le Printemps des Comédiens Montpellier, and more to come. In 2018 she will create the role of La Jeune Fille in the opera L'Inconnue de la Seine by Frederik Neyrinck and Sabryna Pierre.

Lieselot sang in The Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell with Muziektheater Transparant, and performed as one of the daughters in Akhnaten by Philip Glass at Opera Flanders. She was one of the three soloists in The Wasp Factory, an opera by the minimalistic and experimental Icelandic composer Ben Frost. This production was commissioned by Kunst Aus der Zeit of the Bregenzer Festspiele and travelled on to Hebbel Am Ufer (Berlin, Germany), Holland Festival and Royal Opera House Covent Garden. At Schlossmediale Werdenberg (Switzerland) she sang the creation of Turm und Tide by Annette Schmucki. She created works of Frank Nuyts and Benjamin Van Esser during several editions of the festival for contemporary music Voorwaarts Maart / En avant Mars at De Bijloke, Ghent (Belgium).

She sang with contemporary music ensembles Spectra, Musiques Nouvelles, Asko/Schönberg, Lucelin and early music ensembles Psallentes, Flanders Recorder Quartet, Vox Luminis, Chœur de Chambre de Namur, Encantar, Canto LX a.o.
